MBG Places Ontario Series - Aug 7-9, 2026
Ending our MBG 2026 Summer Break with a very Canadian thing to do—camping!
Yes, we’re not throwing in the towels just yet! We’re squeezing in one more adventure with another two-night camping trip, this time to one of Ontario’s best-loved destinations, Sauble Beach.

Sauble Beach Campground is especially appealing because it’s just a short distance from the beach’s long, sandy shoreline. It’s the perfect spot to swim, sunbathe, stroll along the water, enjoy good food, browse the shops, and, of course, catch those beautiful sunsets.

The campgrounds around the area offer all the essentials; washrooms, showers, playgrounds, recreation areas, and fire pits. But among all the places we’ve camped, Sauble Beach Campground definitely stands out. The washrooms are by far the biggest, cleanest, and best-maintained we’ve experienced, which is a major win when you’re camping!

And then there’s Sauble Beach itself, with its laid-back coastal charm. Quaint little shops with vintage vibes, arcade fun, artisan food, and cozy coffee spots seem to pop up everywhere. It’s the kind of place where you can wander around without a plan, grab something delicious, and simply enjoy the relaxed summer atmosphere.
One last little getaway before we officially call an end to MBG Summer Break 2026.

Our lovely two-night escape with the earth as our beds and the night sky as our roof was exactly the kind of summer adventure we needed. We did get a little rain along the way, but somehow, that only added to the charm. There’s something special about being tucked away in nature, listening to the rain on the tent, and waking up to that fresh, earthy smell afterward.

This time, we were lucky enough to share the experience with good friends and their families, which made the whole trip even more memorable. Our days were wonderfully simple, perfecting our grilling skills, lounging by the beach, soaking up the sun, and eating our way through every burger and ice cream we could find!
But the best moments came after sunset. As the day quieted down, we gathered around the campfire with sausages roasting over the flames, sharing stories, laughter, and those little conversations that seem to last longer when you’re sitting under a sky full of stars.

No fancy plans, no busy schedules, just good food, great company, sandy toes, smoky campfires, and time to reconnect. Sometimes, the simplest getaways are the ones that leave you with the best memories.
Our mini trip concluded as we made our way through Owen Sound, a picturesque waterfront city tucked along the shores of Georgian Bay. Surrounded by lush greenery, scenic trails, and beautiful waterways, Owen Sound has that perfect blend of small-town charm and natural beauty.

The city’s waterfront is especially lovely, with boats bobbing in the harbour, peaceful views across the bay, and plenty of spots to simply slow down and take in the scenery. Downtown, you’ll find quaint shops, cafés, restaurants, and historic buildings that give the city a relaxed and welcoming character.

With its nearby waterfalls, parks, beaches, and scenic lookouts, Owen Sound feels like one of those places where nature is never too far away. It’s an easygoing stop that invites you to wander, explore, grab a coffee, and enjoy the slower pace of life along the water.

This mini-trip was definitely a spur-of-the-moment decision, but one we’ll never regret! In fact, this turned out to be our best camping adventure yet, a perfect little getaway filled with good food, great company, laughter, and memories we’ll carry with us.

Hooray for 2026! What a splendid summer it has been; full of sunshine, adventures, campfires, beach days, and so many little moments worth remembering.

And now, we’re already looking forward to next season… wondering what’s going to hit our grill next!
MBG says until the next campfire!
