Summer Fling: Niagara Falls and the Promenade

Places Ontario Series.

Seizing the remaining days of warmth and sunshine until we say hello to our next winter. We've longed to be out, and perhaps, in careless indulgence, forget for once, why we are confined at home! Discarding not safety and reason, we stuffed our old travel bags, each of us a packet to our backs. In compliance with the new normal, masked on our faces, hand sanitizers at disposal. Train tickets in tow, excitement in our hearts, and off we go!

Our first vacation. Toronto. 22 August 20. Niagara Falls.

The journey on the road.

It was the least of what I expected, I thought we will pass prairies and sceneries you'll see on a travel planner. I saw not a wide area of grassland, but a familiar landscape of clustered trees and bushes, the kind you'll see just about anywhere  and the kind that gives you serenity the farther you go.

Our bed and breakfast.

We find ourselves nestled in a cozy, nice house with aptly themed bedrooms for guests. We had enough blankets, towels, and essential that would make up for a comfortable 4 nights stay. We had 2 queen-sized beds, a mini-fridge and just letting go of the fact that the bathroom is not ensuite. We were located far enough to avoid the festivity at the parkway and promenade but near enough to jump right into the fun. Getting around is convenient with UBER, we were too nonchalant about public transport so we've never bothered knowing.

First night. The attractions at the Promenade.

In every vacation, we always allocate a day just for Gabby, we call it Biw day. On Biw day's she will lead our pack. What to do, where to eat, she decides. If you ever been to Niagara Parks, you wouldn't have to guess what we did. Yes, to the theme attractions we were at!

Seven attractions, there were numerous but our legs were too exhausted to even hop on for more.

Day 2. Boat Ride. A Wheel to the Sky and the World of Movies.

I would say, the boat ride is the main event! I couldn't really write how by far, seeing Niagara Falls up close was the most fascinating experience  I had my entire life! It's beyond sublime. The raging water, strong and impressive, vast, magnificent! Niagara Falls is a powerhouse of beauty and industrialization.

The boat ride, Niagara Cruise as they call it will take your wonders to the extreme! We were so close, we were soaked, what a lifetime worth of memory!

Taking our appreciation above the sky, we hopped a sky wheel. It gave us an impressive projection of Niagara falls and the promenade at a birds-eye view.

The world of movies is a little something for curiosity, indulging but when you are a K-movie or an Anime lover like me, you'll never stay for more than 10 mins.

Day 3. Journey Behind the Falls. White Water Walk and the Aero Car experience that never came to be.

I would say our journey behind the falls was as epic as it sounds! The view was spectacular, you'll dream about it more and more as time goes by that you can't help but plan for a second visit!

The boat ride tools us close to the Bridalveil false. The end of our journey behind the falls rewarded us a front-row ticket of Horseshoe Falls.

The white water walk took us to the gorge, the water runs emerald, racing, raging, and captivating.

We never had the chance to board the aero car, they say it's like a traditional car, suspended to strings and will take you above the gorge to appreciate the view mid-air. There was a warning for rain when we came and due to safety protocols, the carriage did not take flight.

To conclude our first ever family trip since arriving in Canada, I have this to say: We will go to more places soon, one journey at a time.
