MBG is 6 months in Toronto Today

MBG is 6 months in Toronto today! Where did the time go? It seems like I just had my favorite char kway teow in our neighborhood hawker center in Singapore! One thing that feels forever you see, are those moments under the sun! Oh, how I've missed those. It is getting warmer right now, I might be saying hello hot summer days next few days.

6 months, having the last 2 months in lockdown but haven't felt more alive! I am looking forward to each new day, I love watching the changing color of the surrounding outside, still fascinated by how it is sunny and cold at the same time, there is so much more to do, so much more to see, so much more to learn in this new place of ours.

6 months ago today, I still remember Gabby's giggles witnessing snow for the first time, how she jumps, and so eager to find out what does snow tastes like! I remember how fun it was, I remember the excitement, the anxiety, the struggle. 

6 months ago today, our lungs would hurt and our noses would bleed due to the extreme cold! Now, I will tell you, we enjoyed dressing up for winter and we can't wait to be out again. We had our back on the floor for 3 nights with only a duvet as a cushion because IKEA took a while to deliver our bed. Now, I will tell you, those were exciting times like we are kids playing house. We had our meal standing by the kitchen counter or squatting on the floor because again, IKEA took a while. It does not matter, the food tasted nice and had our tummy full. I don't know where or how to begin school searching for Gabby, but it turns out to be the easiest enrolment we had. I ready myself accepting the fact that work may never come easy for me, but it only took less than 3 months and only 1 interview that I have been blessed with one, plus one part-time job! Prayer, indeed, never fails! We had an empty apartment, lost and confused while out and about, figuring out how our lives would be in this new situation, but with prayers and faith, those days were the best days of our starting anew kind of life!

6 months ago today, we made new memories that are worth a  lifetime! We are humbled, Jesus, thank you for giving us this opportunity. Cheers to awesome 6 months and ahead in Toronto! - MBG.
