Heavenly Christmas

Christmas cheers rang hollow,

wishes frozen where they were left.

For the longest time, we haven’t sat at the same Christmas table.

For a long while still, we never will.

I wish there was one last Christmas with you,

one last ordinary day with you.

Time is a thief—it took what mattered most.

It wasn’t kind. It took you.

This Christmas, I will try to make room for joy

I hope you can look back and see

you deserve the rest you have now.

Thank you for everything, Papang.

This Christmas is for you.
