Buttery White Bread

Buttery, light, milky and soft. This is my go-to bread recipe. Form into rolls, logs, and even cute hamsters and bears. This recipe is just versatile as it is tasty.

Ingredients


You will need:

  • 120ml warm water
  • 1 tsp yeast
  • 3 tsp sugar
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • 4 tbsp milk powder
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups bread flour
  • 42 g softened butter

Instructions

You will do:

  1. In a bowl, combine water, yeast, sugar, milk powder - mix
  2. Add egg and salt
  3. Add flour
  4. Knead lightly
  5. Transfer to the mat, add butter
  6. Knead for 15 mins
  7. shape  into a ball and transfer in oiled bowl
  8. Proof until double 1 - 1:30
  9. Deflate, form into logs, cut equally
  10. Proof for an hour
  11. Apply egg wash
  12. Bake for 15-20 mins at 175c or 350F for rolls
  13. Or 355F - 28-32 mins for a loaf
